Good over bad
In her diary, Anne Frank wrote that she believed “most people are good.” Do you agree with Anne? If so, why, and if not, why not? (Echoes and Reflections)
I do agree with Anne, most people are good. In a time of terror, or even just like this week the Boston Marathon bombing, even though there are people who caused the terror, there were more people helping out. The good over takes the bad in this world, that’s how I think of things, instead of the negative, always think of the positive outcomes in tragedies. Especially in the Holocaust, although we lost 11 million people, we gained knowledge, stories, and survivors. Countries and people gained strength from the bad experiences. They give us strength by expressing the message that it does get better. We’ve seen the survival stories, how they got through the struggle, and it gives us strength to realize that we can too. So yes, there are bad people out there, but Anne Frank had a point - most people are truly good, which can prove to have the biggest impact on our world.

I completely agree with you Annie! I also think that every person is good but its your actions which are bad, not entirely the person. So what I'm basically trying to say is that everybody makes mistakes and we shouldn't have to blame someone so quick.

ReplyDeleteAnnie, I am completely neutral when it comes to Anne's statement of saying most people are good. I believe that there are just as many bad people, as there are good people. Think about the fact that for every crime committed, there is a cop trying to stop it. The person committing the crime being the "bad" person, and the cop trying to stop the issue being the "good" person. I guess you can't really ever know someones true personality, or thoughts, but some things just make you a bad person. For example, Hitler, in my eyes, was just a bad person. He tried to get rid of all of the Jewish people, trying to kill them all, I think this just makes you a bad person on the inside, and outside. Now, I do agree that it is peoples actions that make them seem bad, but if they were truly a "good" person, why would they let there darkness take them over, and do terrible things? Such as Hitler did.
